STEP 1: A FREE CONSULTATION
We always meet with you for a complimentary consultation. Then, we go over the hardwood floor checklist together. Before we begin the actual process of refinishing hardwood floors, we need to choose a stain that you like and will match the style of the home. Also, we need to know the type of wood used in your floors so that we can properly care for them during the refinishing process.
STEP 2: DUSTLESS SANDWING
We then schedule the dustless sanding procedure. Our exclusive Bona atomic dust containment system, or DCS, is used for this state-of the-art process. The process collects all dust and then transports it to our truck outside of your home. We will leave your home clean after we’re done. No strong odors and no chemicals are required to remove the old finish. Dustless sanding is also free of harmful chemicals. You won’t need to close off any rooms or leave your home.
STEP 3: RETAINING HARDWOOD FLOORS
The next step is to stain the newly sanded flooring. The first step is to apply a water-based stain. After the stain has dried, we apply several coats of a durable, environmentally-friendly, and quick drying topcoat. Your floor will be ready to use again in 2 hours.
4 STEPS TO PREPARE FOR REFINISHING
There are a few things you can do before you get your floors installed.
1. Remove Furniture from Flooring
First, take your furniture out of the area that will be refinished. When the installers arrive they will be able start immediately.
2. Plan Activities Outside of the Home
You don’t have to leave your home with today’s dustless finishing. It may be easier to schedule activities from home if the team is working in your home. This will make it less intrusive.
3. Retrieve Any Belongings from Rooms Beforehand
Be sure to take any personal items that you might need before we begin refinishing your hardwood floors. You won’t be able access your bathroom if the hardwood flooring is installed in the hallway.
4. Place your pet in a crate
To ensure their safety, we recommend securing your pet. Fido can roam free in the backyard if homeowners are willing to put up a fence.
